Don't turn in your Empire Quests yet!
When building a starting village you will get a ton of Empire Quest rewards.
These give some base amount of experience for your hero.

At level 1 you'll get 5% bonus xp.

Get some hero xp now, or much more later.
You might need some of the Empire Quest rewards to help build your town.
Your starting buildings I suggest building the following in your starting town.
Barracks increase the total number of troops you click train at one time.
This is why early on it might make sense to have more than a couple.
This will allow you to train troops all night long while you sleep.
As you reach higher levels of troops tier 2-4 it will take much longer to train so you will be able to knock down some barracks and make room for other buildings such as hospitals.
You always want enough hospitals to be able to heal your entire army in the event you are attacked.
It is much cheaper to heal troops than to rebuild them.
Register your account To make sure all your hard work doesn't vanish one day, you'll want to register your account.
This can be done from the "more" bottom menu item under "accounts and devices".
This will also allow you to play multiple accounts later or login from multiple devices.
VIP Status When you start the game you should have 100 free VIP points to spend.
These can be found under the items icon bottom menu and under the "My Items" tab of the Items menu.
The tab is then split up into sections.
The VIP points are under the "Special" section.
An even faster way to spend the 100 VIP points is to click the VIP logo in the top left of your city view just to the right of your character portrait.
You can then click "Add points" to add the free 100 starting points that you get.
This will promote you from VIP level 1 to VIP level 2.
Each time you level up VIP status you get a free 24 hours of VIP status.
Now that you are level 2 VIP you should get various benefits.
You can see what they are by clicking "2 VIP" on the VIP menu.
The instant construction speedup is very useful.
At level 2 you get a free 7 minutes of instant speedup.
This means that if a building takes 8 minutes to build a "free" icon will appear when it counts down to 7 minutes and you can just instantly finish the building.
There are various other bonuses and at VIP level 7 you get an important one instant daily quests.
Normally quests take minutes to hours to complete but with VIP level 7 you can just click them all to completion instantly.
At VIP level 8 you also get instant alliance quests.
It may be worth spending 150 gold to purchase an additional 100 VIP points.
This will boost you to VIP level 3 and add another 24 hours to your VIP status.
This can really speedup building all your resources and buildings up to level 4-5.
It will click to see more several weeks to reach VIP level 7.
Once you reach it you may want to purchase 30 days of VIP status by spending 4000 gold.

As your Stronghold is leveled up you will gain more marching slots.
This means you can be farming from 2+ resource tiles at once.
The number of troops you send when farming doesn't increase the speed at which they farm only the capacity they can carry.
This is why you'll want to farm with multiple groups once you can.
Earning gold from research events.
This may have been nerfed.
IE: removed There are special research events that occur that pay out 5000 gold as a reward.
At lower stronghold levels they will take 5000 research points.
They are usually solo inferno events which only give you roughly 40 minutes to complete.
Unless you are lucky and time some research to end during one of these events, and it happens to reward 5000 research points, you won't be able to make a profit.
The idea is to line up a few things you want to research in the Academy that will give you a total 5000 points.
Often you can start the research, and then speed it up by spending gold.
Don't use "instant research" because you'll spend more gold than the speed-ups would cost.
Often you can spend 2000-3000 gold to speed through 5000 points of research in a few minutes and then get the 5000 gold reward.
This will net you a profit and allow you to build up your gold stake.
Only research low level items that grant around 300 points to get access to some of the higher level rewards lower down the tree.
The economics tree has many good skills that reward 1000-30,000 points game of war fire age level 30 day shield one skill.

Getting into a decent alliance is priority 1 for obvious reasons.
Most alliances worth their salt have minimum power requirements and the fastest way to get their attention is to have over 50k power…Not to mention that the strategy I outlined is completed with level 1 buildings.
You build 10 of one building, no win cash you destroy them and build 10 of the next.
After you finish doing this for all the building types, then you are free to plan out your city how you want it.
The build 10 strategy is the ONLY way to start this game.
I agree with the 10 build strategy and live by it as well.
But I disagree that troops are not priority initially.
In order to farm, troops are a necessity.
Strength of troops not so much earlier on, but going right side and maxing research, construction, and gathering right away helps grow faster.
After joining an alliance you can always purchase a skills reset later once you are comfortable with your city to develop strength not power, a 10 million power player with no STRENGTH is easy kills.

If you are a wallet warrior, this is a game for you, but if you are like me and have no money, it is not fun at all when you get wiped out by a wallet warrior.
There is no defense whatsoever.

Two words for you troubled rss people….
Example: an alliance of 100 members participating in hyper farming that is at 100 mill power to start will shoot drastically faster up in power with all not just some hyper farming.
Idk how many times u see the word, UPGRADE!
Now that example goes for all hyper farms, hero skill reset to optimize that resource they hyper farm and you will be making over 500k of said resource a hour!

During kill events or tile kills if u can get to VIP 9 but really really try for ten at VIP 9 and active during kill event or tile hits get 15% bonus for troop attack.
VIP 10 get 15% bonus for troop attack, defense and health!
I have 100k troops but my rally only allows 50k.
It also will not allow my other 50k to rally a different city.
Some options: 1 If you have a 2nd account, start a rally there and join that.

If you are a wallet warrior, this is a game for you, but if you are like me and have no money, it is not fun at all when you get wiped out by a wallet warrior.

Two words for you troubled rss people….
Example: an alliance of 100 members participating in hyper farming that is at 100 mill power to start will shoot drastically faster up in power with all not just some hyper farming.
Idk how many times u see the word, UPGRADE!

During kill events or tile kills if u can get to VIP 9 but really really try for ten at VIP 9 and active during kill event or tile hits get 15% bonus for troop attack.
VIP 10 get 15% bonus for troop attack, defense and health!
I have 100k troops but my rally only allows 50k.
It also will not allow my other 50k to rally a different city.

Before this tree, battle marks provided 100% troop attack from hero skills.
Now, with completed battle mark research a rally leader will top 100,000% attack boost when we factor in altar bonuses of +80%.
Below is an example of the destruction that the new research tree is having on trap players.

Battle Marks Research Strengths This tree is unique in that nearly every research node increases the strength of your empire.
This is not the case with BM research.

Also, you gain a third battle mark which helps a ton when you are quickly choosing targets to burn in the heat of battle.
Remember battle marks can be removed after a short period of time, 5 minutes.
However, with all the added research its imperative you mark your targets.
If you switch targets within 5 minutes more than once you would be out of luck before this tree was released.
You could miss your target.
Initially, Battle Marks released in July 2016 shortly before a kill event.
However, we soon discovered this was not the case.
Regardless, the event was rewarding immense points for troop kills if the target is marked so many players invested in the first Battle Marks.
What improvements have been made to Battle Marks?
Battle Mark: Peace Shield Notifications Arguably the best Battle Mark is the most recent Battle Mark: Peace Shield Notification.
The notifications are approximate time indications of peace shield expiration.
In other words, Battle Mark Peace Shield Notification will not tell you the exact time left on a peace shield.
We estimate this means the shield will drop in the next 6-12 hours.

I find this Battle Mark to be the best option if you were going to buy just one type of Battle Mark.
Instead teleporting mark provides one of four notifications.
Target Teleported Nearby When the marked target has teleported but is nearby you will receive this notification.
Also, a compass will appear that will show the direction the target has teleported.
So, your alliance members can narrow their search for the target.
Target Teleported Far Away This Battle Mark Teleporting icon notifies your alliance that the target has teleported far away but is still in your kingdom.
Target Teleported to Different Kingdom This Battle Mark icon indicates that the target has left the kingdom!
Again, the battle marks will not provide the updated coordinates.
Additional Battle Mark Features So, what else do Battle Marks provide us?
Well, you receive a 10% Troop Attack bonus on the marked target, 100% with hero skill points.
The additional attack is gained only by the person who marked the target.
Also, the coordinates of the target appear in your alliance tab making it easy for all alliance members to find the target without scrolling through alliance chat searching for the copied coordinates.
Conclusion: Have battle marks hit their mark?
Battle marks initial release was arguably a disappointment for most players.
We wanted the battle marks to be more useful such as tracking the target when porting.
However, with each new battle mark release the marks did become more useful.
I find the Hero Notification to be the most useful of the four types because it is a sure fire way to indicate whether a hero is home for a heroless rally.
The Peace Shield icon is cash no deposit win bad but it missed the mark slightly because players would rather see an exact time left on the Peace Shield.
However, knowing this would probably be too overpowered.
We can save our core set and cancel rally before it marches and know the general location of the target.
Battle Marks research has certainly increased the importance of battle marks in Game of War.
No rally leader should leave home without one!

I asked Mz that same question and the answer they gave me was that the Battle Mark only benefits the player who marked the target.
That being said, look at the battle mark benefit… 100% Attack for 50 hero skill points.
So, with a battle mark they now have 100,100%.
They also help when the target ports around and you are trying to find them.

If you battle mark the target during a kill event you will gain points in the kill event.
The 1000% DD in the new hero skills changes this around a bit.
Therefore, it adds value to the investment of Battle Mark Hero Notification.
