My Tribe, The Cow Creek of Umpqua out of Roseburg Oregon is a very rich Casino Tribe.
Yet the majority of our roughly 1000 adult members still live at or below National poverty levels.
I say roughly because our Tribe disallows us members knowing exactly who is in our Tribe, to keep us from combining against them.
The only reason I know how any of our members are living is through searching Facebook and asking how they are getting by.
Few of our members native american casino profits near our Tribes' Casino, many have never even visited it.
So nix the idea that most Indians get rich off their Casinos right here and now.
Our Leaders make all the decisions for our Tribe, without the rest of our input.
They decide where all the money native american casino profits />Most of it goes to their political allies who are paid well to look the other way and stay out of their affairs.
I say their, because literally in every way native american casino profits matters, our Tribe isn't 'ours'.
Those at the top who are leading it or are the favored few they trust.
The BIA will not intervene on our members' pleas for help, nor will any other U.
I've spent 3 years trying to find one governmental organization or attorney that will intervene on our behalf.
There is no one.
My Tribe uses a very archaic, easily manipulated election process that keeps those in power, in power.
We cannot vote out our Board members, only they can vote out each other.
Thus, in over 25 years, not one single ammendment to our constitution or majority member-led change has occurred in our Tribe.
Oh, there's been change a-plenty!
The Board and their hired stafflings have changed our Elder's programs, reduced our Emergency Assistance and Medical program benefits, and they keep adding Do's and Don'ts and myriads of qualifications for us members to jump through to get those 'benefits' they do allow us.
Here's just one example.
We each get 100 bucks per year for over the counter Rx and personal care items like toothbrushes and aspirin.
And our Leaders do NOT have to jump through the same hoops we 'regular' members do, no matter what they puff up and spew.
This is why we are asked our names every time we call and at each transfer to a department.
These 'benefits' are based on WHO you are in our Tribe.
I have files of cases where 'nobody members' have been outright denied the benefit for no good reason, or given the run around or false information, hoping they would just give up asking for the benefit.
Many of our business heads are big fat White dudes who married into or 'bought in' to our Tribe.
They are often personal or business friends of our Leaders.
These Fat Cats walk around our Casino and are regularly heard calling us 'stupid Injuns'.
Even our own Tribal Leaders call us good for nothing 'ankle-biters' to our faces.
We annoy them with our cries for change and fairness.
They don't list their numbers or emails anywhere public for THAT reason.
They avoid us members like the plague that I, at least, am trying to be!
Gabe Galenda is the only attorney I have found who is brave enough native american casino profits rep.
It is a really scarey thing to stand up to a corrupt, 'stupid-rich' Tribe who will do next to anything to maintain their power.
But Gabe's already been put on retainer by our Tribe, for what, we members do not know which effectively keeps us members from being able to hire him to help us regain control of our own Tribe.
Our leaders are VERY smart that way.
Our limited to local area Culture activities like drumming and basket weaving, and our red-headed Culture Dept.
Leader teaching us a few words of our ancient language, Takelma, and going to Pow Wows, are what most of our members who are still 'active' in our Tribe and live close by focus on.
These members get really upset when you try to talk 'politics' to them, because it scares them.
They don't want to lose the few benefits they get, or their jobs or 'favor' with the Tribe.
Because it is socially very dangerous to oppose our Leaders.
One of our most respected and beloved Elders, who read more organized our first Pow Wow, was Trespassed from all our lands and holdings by our Board, after he took american tacoma all reviews casino Eagle feather and stood up to our Board in a 2013 General Council about their illegal protection of a known criminal, a non-member employee who had 3 Assault 4 charges against him for breaking Tribal employee women's bones.
check this out Board kept this criminal employed illegal paid his defense illegal aided him in silencing and hiding at least one of the women illegal and tried to keep the whole matter from us members, completely denying our right to know and complain, claiming it was a 'personnel matter'.
They are still paying this man a million a year, his salary, even though he supposedly no longer works for our Tribe.
Just that alone should show anyone how corrupt our Leadership is.
But no one cares.
So, in my and many other Native's experience, Casino's are - at least in my Tribe's case at LEAST - total rackets that favor and reward rich, selfish Indian Leaders and provide a source of living high and large for their Fat Cat White friends and politicians.
They never create wealth for the little Indian at the bottom of the Tribe, struggling to survive.
For this reason, my answer is, Indian native american casino profits is a total racket.
It turns good Indians away from their Tribe, and grows those who stay into 'Red Hitlers'.

My Tribe, The Cow Creek of Umpqua out native american casino profits Roseburg Oregon is a very rich Casino Tribe.
Few of our members live near our Tribes' Casino, many have never even visited it.
So nix the idea that most Indians get rich off their Casinos right here and now.
Our Leaders make all the decisions for our Tribe, without the rest of our input.
They decide where all the money goes.
Most of it goes to their political allies who are paid well to look the other way and stay out of their affairs.
I say their, because literally in every way that matters, our Tribe isn't 'ours'.
Those at the top who are leading it or are the favored few they trust.
The BIA will not intervene on our members' pleas for help, nor https://eronline.ru/american/large-check-deposit-rules.html any other U.
These 'benefits' are based on WHO you are in native american casino profits Tribe.
Even our own Tribal Leaders call us native american casino profits for nothing 'ankle-biters' to our faces.
We annoy them with our cries for change and fairness.
They don't list their numbers or emails anywhere public for THAT reason.
They avoid us members like the plague that I, at least, am trying to be!
Gabe Galenda is the only attorney I have found who is brave enough to rep.
It is a really scarey thing to stand up to a corrupt, 'stupid-rich' Tribe who native american casino profits do next to anything to maintain their power.
Leader teaching us a few words native american casino profits our ancient language, Takelma, and going to Pow Wows, are what most of our members who are still 'active' in our Tribe and live close by focus on.
These members get really upset when you try to talk 'politics' to them, because it scares them.
They don't want to lose the few benefits they get, or their jobs or 'favor' with the Tribe.
Because it is socially very dangerous to oppose our Leaders.
One of our most respected and beloved Elders, who helped organized our first Pow Wow, was Trespassed from native american casino profits our lands and holdings by our Board, after he took the Eagle feather and stood up to our Board in a 2013 General Council about their illegal protection of a known criminal, a non-member employee who had 3 Assault 4 charges against him for breaking Tribal employee women's bones.
Our Board kept this criminal employed illegal paid his defense illegal aided him in silencing and hiding at least one of the women illegal and tried to keep the question american gangster game download for nokia c1 o1 mine matter from us members, completely denying our right to know and complain, claiming it was a 'personnel matter'.
They are still paying this man a million a year, his salary, even though he supposedly no longer works for our Tribe.
Just that alone should show anyone how corrupt our Leadership is.
But no one cares.
So, in my and many other Native's experience, Casino's are - at least in my Tribe's case at LEAST - total rackets that favor and reward rich, selfish Indian Leaders and provide a source of native american casino profits high and large for their Fat Cat White friends and politicians.
They never create wealth for the little Indian at the bottom of the Tribe, struggling to survive.
For this reason, my answer is, Indian gaming is a total racket.
It turns good Indians away from their Tribe, and grows those who stay into 'Red Hitlers'.
