3. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Now, I love Zelda (like have it tattooed on my body forever kind of love) so it's not really that much of a surprise that one of the games of the franchise made the list, but unlike most, my goto isn't Ocarina of Time (though that game was amazing and a part of my childhood).

Well, I've been thinking, video games don't always give out what you paid for.
In fact, very few are the games that'll last for more than a month and then be doomed to an eternity in the closet.
This Top 10 list is here to honor the few games that can truly be played to the end of time itself, whether played alone or with a friend.
A new game, yet common enough to threaten the very world we live in.
If you haven't played, you haven't lived.
You fight, both otherworldly creatures and machines, and enemy soldiers.
It may be just a bit too early to tell, but with awesome graphics, a healthy choice of weapons, and online play that rocks when a friend is playing alongside you, this game will, most likely, stand against the test of time as a game that you will be able to play forever.
As one of the earliest RPG games to introduce 3-D graphics and have a fine background story and gameplay, Ocarina of Time set new standards for RPG games and gaming overall.
Ocarina of Time gave the player a wimpy, whiny kid and the tools to turn him into a man.
With such awesome gameplay, no reconsideration was made when faced to continue or start anew, and that is why Ocarina of Time makes it onto the list.
Here's number 8, and a pretty good number 8.
I'm positive everyone has had a taste of civilization-style startegy games, and would agree when I say this game is freaking awesome.
This expansion adds a good number of new things to the game, including more civilizations to play as.

There is just soooo much one can do with this game, starting with the uberly detailed character customization, and ending with the vast land you "live" in that never fails to impress.
Even after 400 hours of gameplay, you haven't played enough.
What are you doing anyways?

There are some games for me that I play until I was a kid and I never get bored, even if they are not arcade games. In particular I'm talking about Max Payne and Hitman: Codename 47. Even if I played them a lot of times, sometimes I play them again and everytime I have fun. About the same thing happen with Half-Life 2 and Mario 64.

I think we all have that special game we can just play forever and ever.
Mine is way of the samurai and it's sequels but what about you guys.
What game can you just sit down and play forever.
If I was forced to I think I could play that game for the rest of my life without completely losing my mind.
Forever is a long time.
I've put about 500 hours into Final Fantasy 7.
But I've put 5000 hours over 11 years into World of Warcraft.
I couldn't play forever.
Well you cant play any game forever because you cannot live that long also few other problems ; article source ok I guess you mean games you could play all your life and still enjoy?
For me until Better than Life comes out I dont believe a game like that could exist.
Even my favourite games of all time computer, board, card etc I could not play day after day night after night for year after year and not get bored.
I tend to move on quite fast even if I adore a game I just want to see what new stuff is coming out.
I think I could probably play The Witcher 3 forever.
Honestly, I'm starting to think I have a problem because I have been playing this game since February and I am not sick of it yet.
I usually get sick of open world games after a few weeks and end up finishing them a year later when the fatigue has worn off.
Yet, with The Witcher 3, I think about this game when I'm not playing it and when I play it, its hard to tear me away.
I have to put myself to bed when I play it in the week and have to work in the morning.
Of course, the game isn't perfect and it is possible that next week I will be sick of it.
But at the moment I could play this game forever, no other game is getting a look in.
Symphony of the Night or literally any other Metroidvania besides Circle of the Moon, maybe.
Don't always have the urge to play them again but when I do I have so much fun.
Even though I haven't booted it up in forever, I'd probably be able to play Team Fortress 2 forever.
Especially when modded maps are being taken into account.
Fighting games and other competitive and deep games are good at this.
For me personally, stuff like blazblue is the best example.
I tend to learn every character in each version to get used to the matchups but actually getting as good with them as with my main in my avatar would indeed take for ever.
So far I've logged over 1200 hours into the S.
Can't say I'll play them forever, but they are the most likely candidates at this point.
Timesplitters Future Perfect, 2004 Star Wars Battlefront, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
I may not have a lot of hours in that last one when compared to the first two, but whenever I play it I figure out something new.
For me it would be Persona 4, Metal Gear Rising or the BlazBlue games.
I've sunk 81 hours into BlazBlue Chronophantasma since the day it launched on Steam and I have games you can play forever no intention of quitting.
I only play like 1 character too, if I wanted to seriously learn other characters the time put into this game would be insane.
Fuckin' Terumi is so much fun to play.
He reminds me of the days of UMVC3 when super clashes would happen all the time and you had to pray that your super had more invincibility frames or had a shorter wind up time or your connection hadn't fucked you with input lag again.
Terumi has that happen because he supers all over the fuckin' place and it turns out that Gleaming Fang beats almost anything.
The hype moment where that super and Celica's charge super fuckin' clash and cancel each other out.
BlazBlue is just full of hype moments, even those x-Factor moments in UMVC3 return in the form of Overdrive invincibility frames.
Hitting the perfect Overdrive to go through a hit you saw coming is so satisfying.
Plus i'm playing Terumi and a Terumi who gets a full Overdrive combo will fuck you up.
Terumi might be utterly trash tier but he's forever games you can play forever tier in my heart.
One of his main combo extending moves is literally stomping on someone's head with a steel capped boot with a knife in the heel.
How is that not the most awesome thing ever thought up in a fighting game?
If I have access to mods, Skyrim.
There's simply such a ridiculous amount of content, both in the game and from the mods community, that Click the following article still go back to the game all the time.
There are simply so many ways to play through this game it is just bonkers.
Since I'm "weird" and I'm really good at the whole "obsessing over things", I think I could go the rest of my life and not get tired of Okami.
Like, it's not a complicated game but I'll never get tired of the gameplay or music or the 100 Bead challenge or anything.
I just love that game and I go back and play it all the time.
Also it's probably because it's been clouding my mind up a lot lately but.
Like, all of them.
I can't pick just one except maybe NOT just the Pre-Sequel.
But I go through those and play them with friends, by myself, any time of the day, any time of the year.
If that second answer's a copout though then just say Okami.
Borderlands 2, because of demented amount of endgame content.
Even TPSQ has a lot going on for it if you want to reach max lvls with all characters.
I've recently picked up Dragon's Dogma for the PC, and I can see myself pouring hundreds of hours into it.
click at this page think I could probably play The Witcher this web page forever.
Honestly, I'm starting to think I have a problem because I have been playing this games you can play forever since February and I am not sick of it yet.
But at the moment Games you can play forever could play this game forever, no other game is getting a look in.
I've been playing it since release day May 19th 2015 and I can't get enough.
So yeah, The Witcher 3.
Also Counter Strike, old GTA games, Mass Effect games, Assassin's Creed Ezio Trilogy, Max Payne 2, Bully etc.
There's a lot of games that I can play over and over again.
I keep trying not to pimp it but.
Possibly the only game I've played for more then 50 hours that I can recall currently 250ish according to steam.
And I still haven't even reached all the planets, let alone explored them.
It games you can play forever help that they keep adding new content and the mod scene is insane.
Of course, the downside of which is that pretty much every time an update comes out, the modders have to scramble to update their mods so they work with the game.
Guild Wars 2 for me.
Animal Crossing would be up there if only they added a way where you cna do more stuff after two hours after you had shake all the tree, dig the fossil, find the bugs of the games you can play forever and making small chick chat with the local.
I havent found one in my entire life but if No Man's Sky is as promising as I imagine it to be it could well be the first.
As others have said, read more Borderlands games go on forever.
Though I'm playing TPS right now and it feels like the shorter of the 3.
The Binding of Isaac would probably be the best candidate for me.
It has managed to keep my attention pretty consistently for over 850 hours between the original and Rebirth.
It has the perfect balance of challenge and just enough variation on a run by run basis to keep me interested for a couple of runs per day.
Upcoming mod support in Afterbirth+ will almost certainly supply even greater variation just in case the usual formula gets stale.
I thought I could play Guild Wars 1 forever.
As it turned out, I could only play it for a really, really, really, really, really long time.
Probably DOOM as not only is there a level generator for it OBLIGE but there are also a crapton of mods that will randomize things inside levels that are ALSO compatible with the level generator.
Without Mods is harder though.
I would say Age of Wonders 3, or possibly something procedural like one of the Diablo games.
I run through 007 Nightfire a lot.
I've picked up a cool trick in the second level where you can just kind of use the geometry to access the cable cars from the bottom.
Plus there's a code that lets you play the second driving level as a race in.
I love that game.
Speaking of Clover, I really need to get around to finishing Okami.
I got kinda far-ish into it maybe, it's a long ass game dropped it for about 6 months and I had no fucking clue what the hell was going on so I decided to restart.
Strange as it sounds coming from someone who loves Persona 4, the intro is just so slow paced and it takes ages to get going and it kills my interest in playing the game.
That's not always a bad thing, see again Persona 4 which has 2 hours of pressing X to continue dialogue before there's any real combat but it works because everything that is going on is interesting, Okami's first hours are fairly dull in comparison I think.
The ultimate in slow starting games would be Umineko No Naku Koro Ni though.
That might actually be a game I could play forever, well it's a Kinetic Novel technically but in the story the events are a game between Beatrice and Battler and the reader is encouraged or even expected to join in so calling it a game is fine I think.
It's very "meta" The entire first chapter is character introductions, people arguing over money, a decent if a bit basic murder mystery story with a hint of magic and then more people arguing over who killed who.
It's 99% dialogue for around 4+ hours and it's never boring.
Any game with emergent game play.
Which means anything that remotely attempting to tell a story, develop character or narrative are out, no great loss there, games are barely out of their infancy when compared to cinema or literature in these areas.
I could play "XCOM: Enemy Unknown" forever.
It always has the same basic overrall strategy which gives it structure, but the RNG makes each mission feel different and important which thoroughly engrosses me.
With a brutal but utterly beautifully done difficulty curve based on how long you're playing the game There are games that I could probably play for quite a while, like minecraft or fallout: new vegas.
It might be possible in the future, with new technology coming out like VR, that such an experience will be created that I'll just play forever.
Skies of Arcadia, maybe Final Fantasy XIV, Dragon's Dogma.
More games, like Jedi Academy multiplayer and MOTHERFUCKING DARK SOULS.
Video games are great aint they?
I created this thread because I was just having a good old time with an old franchise I loved as a kid.
Maybe I shouldn't have said forever but instead a really really really really really long time.
Even though I don't have mods I come back to skyrim every now and again same thing for fable and others.
Plus if nothing else I can see a few games to play later.
If I had to choose one game to play for next several years exclusively, it would have to be something likely competitive and online.
I say competitive, because no matter how good you get at a game, there's a significant chance that someone will best you.
There will almost always be someone new reaching for the top.
So if I was forced into only one game for, let's say for the sake of this example, 15 years, it would have to be something competitive, and something that required skill that can constantly be improved upon in my own body and reflexes, rather than strictly relying on the games abstract mechanics.
So far, I've boiled my choice down to online shooters.
There's always a large pool of players, most of which play completely different from each other, and it's a game based mostly off of player skill rather than strictly relying on mechanics though I realize there are elements of shooters that can be exploited.
Now I must distill my choice from this into one particular shooter.
This is a little tough, but I'm sure it can be done.
Let's look at the most often played games on Steam I will not be including survival can you win on any slot machines in this, just as an arbitrary stipulation.
Currently, the top 5 most played competitive shooters are, in order: 1.
Team Fortress 2 3.
Garry's Mod I will count this only because there are competitive modes, which might be in it's favor for this decision 4.
ARMA 3 Looking at player counts, it's clear that Counter Strike has been steadily increasing in player size just within the last two years, and remain pretty consistent.
Team Fortress 2 also has large and fairly consistent player count.
Garry's Mod has had a few large gaps in player counts dropping, but remains overall high.
GTA 5 peaked quite high, but has steadily been decreasing since release, with a rather small install base.
ARMA 3 has been consistent, but usually quite low.
This being stated, I'm picking between Counter Strike and Garry's mod.
Counter Strike does have the benefit of custom maps, weapons, and a decent learning curve for it's weapons, but overall uses the same mechanics.
Garry's Mod games you can play forever the other hand, while largely keeping the same FPS gameplay from the Half Life series, does have a robust amount of different game modes, so gameplay can be mixed up and kept fresh.
Unfortunately, with so many game modes, the player base is divided quite a bit into each of these modes, meaning there will likely not be a very continuous player count for any one mode.
However, I do pick Garry's Mod.
The prospect of spending so much time with Counter Strike with so many different people, and getting progressively better as I play is enticing, but I much more fancy the idea of having a more varied number of gameplay modes and mechanics in Garry's Mod, not to mention the additional content I could potentially create myself.
TL;DR I'm stupid and did more research than my answer was worth.
I picked Garry's Mod.
Really, any game that has modding support can be played forever.
For me, that favourite is Skyrim right now.
I modded it into absolute realism because it was severely lacking precisely that.
It is now effectively a Medieval simulator.

From Qwop to N, to deny the foolish, fast-paced fun of flash games is to deny yourself a divinely simple pleasure. Not all games need to have triple-A dev teams behind them to be fun. Not every game needs to be 100 hours to beat and have a skill tree a mile long to be engrossing. Hell, sometimes you.

Enjoy!

I tend to move on quite fast even if I adore a game I just want to see what new stuff is coming out.
