The format for each role is as follows: ' Role Name'- Team- Description Team options are: - Team Good - Max Evil- On Team Evil, generally has most of the following attributes: counts for parity, in Max Evil chat, and controls the night kill.
They can be stacked on top of most roles.
A Apprentice Seer - Team Good.
The Apprentice Seer starts the game as a villager but will be promoted to full seer if the original seer dies.
Also referred to as a Latent Seer.
B Big Bad Wolf - Max Evil.
As long as the Big Bad Wolf is alive, the Wolves get an additional Night Kill each dusk-dawn cycle.
The second night kill, if used, must be adjacent to the first night kill.
Black Hat - Attribute.
The role of a player who is a black hat will not reveal upon their death, regardless of the reveal status of the game.
Bodyguard - Team Good.
This role can protect a player each night to prevent them from being killed, can usually not protect the same target two days in a row, can usually not protect themselves.

J Jailkeeper β€” Team Good.
The Jailkeeper has the ability to protect another player at night to prevent them from being killed.
Whoever the Jailkeeper protects also has their night actions blocked.
This role is a combination of the bodyguard and witch abilities.
As with bodyguard and witch, this ability is normally non-repeating.
This role is also known as an Armor.
A Jester will reveal as any other currently living role in game.
The reveal is random.
K Knight - Team Good.
A knight is a tough villager, and will survive the first time they would die.
Sometimes called "Tough Villager".
L Loudmouth - Team Good.
If killed by something other than lynch, the player that targeted him for death is revealed in thread.
Lovers - Team Good.
When one lover dies, every other lover in that pairing dies as well.
Lovers usually have the ability to share a chat.
Sometimes one way lover pairings happen, so Lover A would die with Lover B but not vice versa.
Lyncher - Team Neutral.
The lyncher has one or multiple target players, if those targets are lynched, he will achieve victory and leave the game.
The lyncher will sometimes convert to another role when his targets are nightkilled instead of lynched.
Considered a variant of the Hoodlum role.
M Martyr - Team Good.
This role can target a player each night.
If the targeted player is killed that night, the martyr will die in their place.
Distinguished from a Bodyguard in that the martyr can only protect against a single kill.
Mason - Team Good.
Masons are informed to each other's identity prior to game start.
On BGG, it is normal for Masons to have the ability to chat continue reading each other.
For clarification's sake - Masons are not attached as Lovers, where if one dies, they both die.
Also, in multi-village games, it is normal to have Lovers be in the same village and Masons be in different villages.
Mason Recruiter - Any Team.
The Mason Recruiter chooses a player each night to create a chat with.
The Mason Recruiter would typically be anonymous in these chats.
Mayor - Team Good.
This version of the Mayor has a voting strength of 2.
Medium - Team Good.
The medium can establish a 24 hour chat with a dead player every night.
Mentalist - Team Good.
As a night action, selects two players.
Is informed if those two players are on the same team.
Normally, cannot pick a player more than once per game.
Also known as Quasi-seer.
Mimic - Aux Evil.
The Mimic is an Aux Evil that views someone night and learns their full role.
From then on, the mimic can choose to reveal as any of the roles they've viewed.
Minion - Aux Evil.
The Minion knows who the Max Evils are and is known by the Max Evils.
They do not share a chat.
Moderator - Team Neutral.
The Moderator is the player running the game.
Notice that this role is never randomized on BGG.
It is worth pointing out that in some games, the Moderator is actively working against the players and may or may not be killed.
Mummy - Team Evil.
The Mummy can choose a player to hypnotize.
As long as the Mummy is alive, the hypnotized player must vote with the Mummy.
Typically, the Moderator will have to manually adjust the vote after dusk is called.
O Old Man β€” Team Good.
The most common variant is that the Old man dies at the beginning of Day X, where X is equal to the number of Werewolves that started in the game.
P Pacifist - Team Good.

Pacifist may be a hidden Attribute.
A possessed player is good aligned but counts for evil parity.
Priest, Latent - Team Good.
This priest will learn the roles of all recently deceased players at each dawn.

Passive Priests sometimes stack their abilities with 2, full information is revealed; with 1, only team alignment.
They also tie to specific deadlines, so a Passive Day Priest would apply to lynch and a Passive Night Priest would apply at Dawn.
Priest, Active - Team Good.
This priest views the dead players in a no-reveal game to learn their identity.
Prince - Team Good.
The normal variant of the Prince is a character who will survive a lynch.
What happens when they're lynched depends on the game and moderator.
R Revealer β€” Team Good.
Each night, MAY select another player.
If that player is a Werewolf, the Werewolf dies.
If that player is not a Werewolf, the Revealer dies.
If the Revealer is targeted by Werewolves, his reveal action does not happen.
S Scavenger - Any Team.

Seer Naive - Team Good.

Is informed of anyone that targets that player starting at dawn and continuing through the next dawn.
Traitor - Team Evil.
The traitor is similar to the villager except that his alignment is evil.
In some games, the traitor is given a mason chat with other traitors.
They sometimes count for parity.
Troublemaker - Team Good.
Once per game, as a night action, the Troublemaker can require the village to have two lynches during the following day.
Truthsayer - Team Good.
This is normally only done once per night.
Sometimes known as Prophet.
V Vampire β€” Team Evil.
The Vampire is another Max Evil.
In some variants, they are just another standard evil team with a Night Kill like a Werewolf.
In some, they're able to Convert players to a Vampire.
Vigilante - Any Team.
The vigilante has a once per game ability to kill another player in the same fashion as the Werewolf's Night Kill.
A variant of the Vigilante's ability allows them to keep their kill power if OPG if they target the same victim as the Night Kill.
Villager - Team Good.
The Villager has no special abilities, unless given them by a specific Attribute.
W Werewolf - Max Evil.
The werewolf can chat with other werewolves.
Together, they can choose to kill one player each night.
This version of the Werewolf will be viewed as 'not wolf' or 'good' by a seer in addition to his normal werewolf abilities.
This type of Werewolf is also referred to as the Werewolf game roles list Werewolf or the Wolf Man.
Werewolf Ancient - Max Evil.
This version of the Werewolf counts for double-strength parity.
Werewolf Lone - Max Evil.
This is a Werewolf who does not have a chat with any other Werewolves.
This may occur if the game has only one Werewolf.

Werewolf Shaman - Max Evil.
This version of the Werewolf get some kind of additional view, usually either the ability to view for Seers or Aux Evils.
Werewolf Cub - Aux Evil.
The wolf cub will promote to werewolf when an original werewolf is killed, when they themselves are targeted for Night Kill by the Werewolves, or both depending on the game.
They will sometimes know the identity of the werewolves and sometimes the werewolves will know the identity of the wolf cub.
Note that the Seer does not normally get a positive hit on the Werewolf Cub until after they are promoted.
White Hat - Attribute.
